چکیده

for the conversion of dinitrogen into ammonia, by demonstrating that ammonia is directly obtained from the nitrido species. The reactivity of the transitionmetal–nitrido complexes described in their papers shows a real advance towards developing a ‘post-Haber–Bosch process’: a synthetic method for the catalytic formation of ammonia from molecular dinitrogen under mild reaction conditions. These papers provide essential information for developing a catalytic nitrogen-fixation system by using iron catalysts7. ❐

Free roaming dogs: a threat to public health

Free roaming dogs are increasing in numbers. They live in unhygienic conditions and are not vaccinated mostly. They create several problems in the community, particularly health threats to human. Dog biting is a commonly reported case in some hospitals in Bangladesh. Rabies is one of the killers of people in Bangladesh and transmission occurs mostly due the dog biting. Death commonly occurs in ...

تاثیر همزیستی قارچ اندوفیت بر برخی شاخصهای فیزیولوژیک گیاه گوجه‌فرنگی تحت تنش شوری 10 روزه

The influence of endophyte fungus piriformospora indica on characteristics of the growth, water status, photosynthetic pigments concentration, gas exchange, and chlorophyll fluorescence of tomato plants under salt stress (0, 50, 100 and 150 mM) was studied in the greenhouse. Under salt stress, mycorrhizal tomato plants had higher dry weight of shoot and root, higher height, higher carotenoid an...

Solar eclipse demonstrating the importance of photochemistry in new particle formation

Solar eclipses provide unique possibilities to investigate atmospheric processes, such as new particle formation (NPF), important to the global aerosol load and radiative balance. The temporary absence of solar radiation gives particular insight into different oxidation and clustering processes leading to NPF. This is crucial because our mechanistic understanding on how NPF is related to photoc...

Potential use of the PRI and active fluorescence for the diagnosis of the physiological state of plants under ozone exposure and high atmospheric vapor pressure deficit.

Assessing photosynthesis rates with remote sensing is important for tracking the physiological state of plants. The photochemical reflectance index (PRI) is a good estimator of short-term light-use efficiency (LUE) at the leaf scale but its responses to environmental factors are poorly understood. In this study, we assessed changes in the responses of the PRI to ozone exposure and to an increas...

UVA/Vis-induced nitrous acid formation on polyphenolic films exposed to gaseous NO2.

Photochemical processes on ground and airborne surfaces have been suspected to lead to production of HONO in the sunlit lower troposphere, e.g. upon light activation of humic acids followed by reaction with adsorbed NO(2). Here, we used tannic and gentisic acids as proxies for atmospheric polyphenolic compounds to obtain further insights into the photoenhanced NO(2) conversion to HONO, which is...
